We Lack No Open Door & Are Pressed To The Throne Of God - Jack Crans

Isaiah 6:1-10 “In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I, send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, And the Lord have removed them far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.”

I am very aware of the historic and prophetic content of Isaiah’s vision of the throne of the Most High God noted above from Isaiah 6. It’s a very familiar passage to most reading this letter. One thing is certain; it’s a wonderful glimpse into the heavenlies and a precious unveiling of God’s holiness and the desperate heart of His messenger.

Lessons within it are numerous. The angelic host cried: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” I can't help but be reminded of Romans 1:18-32 which so vividly describes the heart of all men: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shown it unto them… even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse…Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”

The truth is often cried to a people ‘who received not the love of the truth’ and ‘believe a lie’ and who ‘believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.’ Even these descriptive words speak of that coming day that shall come upon the earth in the ‘day of Christ’ as warned through the Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12.

Please take a few moments and read a most wonderful passage that describes our callings in Christ Jesus: 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17. Let us personalize and embrace this great calling upon our own lives! A most dangerous hour in America demands it of us!

Prayer Needs

• On August 18, the Lord willing, I’ll board a British Airways flight for Johannesburg, South Africa to address the Christian Police Associations of the African continent. Please pray for the safety of my own life, no less, that of my loved ones here at home. The journey will be very brief, but, strategic! Please pray for my precious wife, Sue, as she keeps vigil from the office to the camp’s kitchen.

• The next Fourth Sunday Night Sermon Meeting will be at 6pm on August 23 at The Camp at Old Mill. We are privileged to host Dr. Jim O'Neill, President of the Association of Baptists for World Evangelization (ABWE) and popular Christian singing artist, Diane Susek. Please note the early arrival of this month’s Fourth Sunday Meeting. Weather and attendance in our 2015 summer meetings have been wonderful! Please make every effort to support these timely meetings and continue to be ‘awake to truth’ for such a time as this.

• Our summer staff has been a huge blessing! Many of you invested in Nasir Newton, Marquin Parker, Slay Pittman, David Brubaker and Grant Wise. Their lives are maturing in Christ and they’ve proven themselves as exceptional workers to the praise and glory of God. Please pray for Grant Wise who was injured during our late June camps. Also, remember to hold up Nasir as he prepares to enter the Word of Life Bible Institute in September. Marquin, Slay and David will be completing their final days of high school. I’ve been deeply encouraged by the hard work of Joshua, Jason, Valerie and Leon in the care and managing of so many details at both the camp and in the lives of hundreds of children and families.

• On August 28, the Board of Directors of CCGM (pictured below) will gather to prayerfully seek God’s continued leading in this mission. The sobering weight of ministry falls heavy on our hearts, both in the office and in the realms of prison, law enforcement, families and the precious churches with whom we jointly labor. We lack no open door, and are pressed to the throne of God in seeking His strength and leading for the days before us!

• Pray for Heinrich and Susan Botes who continue to see the blessings of God in their calling to us from South Africa. In fact, as I write, Heinrich is spending time with Pastor Richard Owen Roberts in Wheaton, Illinois. Pray for favor and provision as they continue down the long road to obtain permanent residence.

• In closing, pray for encouragement of all our staff in these sobering days including Jordan at the Bridge Academy Community Center (crucial to all we do), Jonathan who leads a unique and strategic ministry to the subculture of skateboarding and most importantly, that the Word of God stay central to our daily lives and that we live to the praise of His Glory! Pray also for our families (wives and children).

• Finally, a few numbers…we were forced to purchase a Dodge Caravan at 0% interest ($5,000 down) at approximately $350 per month. This vehicle is essential in the ministry and replaced an older model that had to be "retired" after 230,000 miles. The septic upgrade, that in the long haul will save us much money, is also moving ahead despite an immediate need for approximately $8,000.00 - $10,000.00.
