The Contender

"It was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 1:3

America On Its Knees - Jack Crans

Psalms 30:4,5 “Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

Zephaniah 3:18 “ I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.”

No thought more accompanies my life than this: “What does repentance look like in my own life? What does a repentant leader look like? What does a church full of repenters look like in the midst of this present darkness?" Again, I remind us all of Paul’s testimony to King Agrippa (Acts 26:19,20) wherein he cries:

“...O, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision: but showed...that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.”

Nothing less than a Church full of repenters will allow itself to be poured out in courageous, costly and obedient service to Christ! This alone is the real hope for this present hour in America, no less, the nations-at-large! For me personally, I must ask: "What will be my courageous, costly and obedient service for Christ?” Most truthfully, this is a question we all need to answer with contrite and fearful hearts before the holy and merciful presence of God.

If you want a wake-up-call for what is before this nation, listen to the direct threats against authority that grow louder with each passing day. Take careful note, there are many who desire to bring this nation to the ground! We, as followers of the Lamb of God, want to see America fall on its knees.

Invitation To A Solemn Assembly

I invite you to join me for a very real Solemn Assembly at Camp at Old Mill on the Fourth Sunday of October 2015. I seek no conflict with your church’s evening meetings and therefore ask that you consider joining with me on October 25, 2015 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm for a time of song, prayer and sober reflection upon God’s Word. I may be wrong, but I sense that our nation’s moral and spiritual crisis is begging our attention. I long to open my heart to those who come...

What A Summer!

Looking back over the summer, it’s been the most wonderful of my entire memory. The Camp at Old Mill was host to children, youth and adults; many of who, reflected the deepest cries of the human heart. Literally, the fatherless, poor and alien came to reflect, worship and experience the unfailing love and mercy of so great a Savior!

The river became the waters of baptism and the shaded grove, the place of song and tears. Confession of sin, testimonies of His mercy and forgiveness, and songs of faith often rose from our chapel and campfires. Tears fell upon our old wooden floors and joyous laughter and celebration of love for Christ rose towards the glorious sky.

War Room at Valley Forge LPB

County Corrections Gospel Mission is privileged to facilitate the Prayer Room at the 2015 Valley Forge Leadership Prayer Breakfast on Friday, November 6. Although we also sponsored a table at the event, a group of "prayer warriors" will be on their knees in a separate room praying for the proceedings in the banquet hall. Contact me if you're interested to join us in prayer from about 6 to 10am on that day. What a privilege!

Prayer Needs

• In a few weeks, I will be off to Elkhart, Indiana to address the opening of the Breaching The Barricade Conference (October 1-4). Our ministry’s associate, Chaplain Jim Bontrager, is the host for this powerful ingathering of law enforcement servants.

Pray for police hearts to embrace their highest callings for what is fast becoming a day of increasing lawlessness!

• Pray for Nassir Newton (one of our Kids Club’s faithful, young men) who is on his way to the Word of Life Bible College at the end of September. We equipped him with his own laptop computer but desire to also secure his scholarship of more than $10,000 for the first year.

• We need a few, faithful and willing helpers in our food-service needs for Thursday’s Bible Clubs for women (lunch) and for our Children’s Bible Club volunteers and staff (dinner). These needs are very real and I’d rejoice if you’d write or call us with any hopeful interest in assisting.
