The Contender

"It was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 1:3

The Most Audacious Sin Of All? - Jack Crans

Daniel 9:8-10 “O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him; neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which He set before us by his servants the prophets.”

Isaiah 1:9 “Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Quoted above are a portion of a prayer from the prophet Daniel and a selection of opening words from the prophet Isaiah, each pertaining to God’s people in seasons of great disobedience and national judgments. Daniel’s words mirror our own nation’s condition at this hour while Isaiah’s words reveal our only hope of any deliverance.

What is our nation’s greatest internal threat? Is it ISIS? Is it civil unrest and domestic violence? Is it the immigration of illegal aliens or the imminent arrival of Syrian Refugees? Is it the corrupted media? Is it our neglect of the poor and fatherless? Is it crime? Is it the abuse of drugs? Is it the corrupting and audacious culture of Hollywood? Or is it... Full Text

We Need To Pray

• You are invited to pray with us every FOURTH Sunday in 2016 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at Camp at Old Mill, 127 Brandamore Road, Honey Brook, Pennsylvania. We're praying for revival in our churches, in our communities and even in the most "unlikely" places such as the inner-cities and prisons. Please enter it on your calendar and tell others.

• I will be host to the Prayer Room at the National Prayer Breakfast at the Washington Hilton Hotel from Wednesday, February 3 (10:00 am) through Thursday, February 4 (3:00 pm). Consider prayerfully to join me in one of the side rooms of the hotel to intercede for the event. Participation is free.

Contact me for more information about these opportunities.

The Year 2015

The year 2015 has been another miraculous journey of God’s provision for our ministries both in prison and in the reflected urgencies of our own neighborsOh, that we not fail to deliver them that perish; who are within reach of our professed gatherings of faith and worship. (See Proverbs 24:11,12)

Some highlights include:

• We embarked on a major undertaking in the prison related to a family-reentry-initiative. The cries of the prisoner and his/her family beckon the Church to engage in mentoring and in embracing their return into our own neighborhoods. Only a repentant Church (a people who have truly turned to God) will rise to these urgent opportunities. We desire to hear from you and will do all in our power to connect you with specific lives relevant to your own loving and obedient hearts.

• In this wonderful season of Christmas, we’ve been able to embrace several hundred children and families with resources for a happier end-of-year. The outpouring of love from churches, businesses, police and individuals have allowed us to preform the many acts of kindness through our Bible Clubs, Bridge Academy Community Center and in the lives of all women and their children represented at Chester County Prison.

• A new septic system has been completed and graciously installed before the pending cold of winter. A full report of this ‘act-of-kindness’ will be forthcoming.

• Nasir Newton (one of our Kid’s Club Boys) just completed his 1st semester at Word of Life Bible Institute. Many of you helped us pay his way. Read a Year-End Update here. Would you consider assisting us in meeting his needed tuition balance of $4,000.00? Irrespective, Please, pray for him!

Valerie Anne Mayo

I must report to you that our mission (CCGM) and this entire region will soon be suffering a great loss in the departure of our loved, fellow-laborer Valerie Mayo. She sensed God’s loving hand drawing her to spend meaningful and needed time with her son, Steven, his wife, Morgan, and their 3 sons in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Her local family, local congregation, the Bridge Academy of Coatesville and CCGM have all been recipients of her obedience to Jesus Christ. We have all learnt what serving is all about through the loving and faithful obedience of Val. What can I do, but let her go! Please pray for Valerie and that God will supply in each of our lives in these vital weeks of transition.

Prayer Needs

• On Thursdays we need faithful and willing churches/helpers to help prepare and serve food during Bible Clubs for women (lunch) and to supply a meal for our Children’s Bible Club volunteers and staff (dinner). These needs are very real and I’d rejoice if you’d write or call us with any hopeful interest in assisting.

Pray as we prepare to host Pointman Leadership Institute in May and pray as our daily work takes us before the fatherless and before the most mighty in authority. Quite frankly, without God’s intervention, we are but dust

• Pray for our Thursday Bible Clubs for Mothers(am) and Youth(pm) as well as for the penetrating and strategic work of the ‘Bridge Academy Community Center.’

• Prayerfully consider relieving the evident ‘shortfall’ of support for several of our missionary staff.
