The Contender

"It was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 1:3

If

2 Corinthians 4:3,4 “ But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

In musing over 42+ years of missionary work, I’ve recently likened my experience to a career within a coalmine. To state it briefly, the years have taken us deep into the darkness of this world. One can only imagine the darkness of a mine that has been worked for more than 42 years. The darkness is pervasive and the dangers more real than ever, yet, the glorious light of the gospel never dims.

Musing, I thought of dear ones as you, who have held the ropes, watched and prayed as we’ve plumbed these depths. Experience and time reveals that while most precious friends have stayed and prayed; some have left us and forgotten how deep and dark our labors have become in these latter years.

We remain inside this darksome ‘harvest’ and we praise God for you whom we know have stayed to faithfully guard our way. Thank you for your kindness, your sacrifice, your supply and for your prayers.

IF OUR GOSPEL BE HID, IT IS HID TO THEM THAT ARE LOST!” The operative word is ‘if’.

The Apostle Paul was faithful in declaring the Good News of our Savior, Jesus Christ. His preaching was NOT done in a corner, and God wonderfully used Paul in bold and fervent declaration of God’s great salvation. If the GOOD NEWS was hidden at all, it was hidden from hearts and minds by the work of “the god of this world”. O, LORD, help us to not fail in preaching Christ Jesus the Lord!

Global Summit at Camp at Old Mill

The 2016 Global Summit of Pointman Leadership Institute takes place at The Camp at Old Mill, our headquarters, from Saturday, May 14 to Saturday, May 21.

This event creates many opportunities for Christians of all ages and with differents gifts and talents to serve in a practical way.

The following thoughts are extended for your personal consideration and prayers. I’m asking God to touch the heart of families, churches to raise up all necessary resources for the honoring and glorifying of His Name as we undertake to host servant-leaders from around the nation and the world. These include most especially, former Attorney General Ed Meese!

Pointman Leadership Institute (PLI) ought to be known by most of you as I’ve long served as one of its trainers and team directors. Robert L. Vernon who served as the Assistant Chief of Police for Los Angeles founded PLI. You can visit the mission of PLI by going to www.pliglobal.org.

Though the summit officially commences on Sunday, May 15 and continues until Thursday Morning, May 19, a core of PLI’s international directors and staff will continue to meet until the morning of Saturday, May 21.

Please prayerfully consider any part that you might be willing to serve in advancing a glorious and successful hosting of international police leaders and committed servants of Christ. We are expecting leaders from Europe, Bolivia, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and from across the United States. There will be approximately 35-40 lives for which we are responsible.

The following needs are what I’m asking you to carefully weigh ‘for such a time as this.’ If you respond, I’ll personally include you in every detail of what’s before us. You’ll be touching lives in a very special and powerful way. Thank you, caring friend….

How You Can Help

• Prayer and Encouragement of our Local Police Commanders during this week.

• Drivers needed: Transportation for Arrival and Departure from Philadelphia International Airport for of one or more of our guests. We need willing and able drivers who would consider it a joy to drive to the airport to personally greet and transport one or more of our distinguished guests to and from the Camp at Old Mill in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania. The pick-ups will mainly occur on Sunday, May 15 and drop-offs on Thursday, May 19. In some cases, guests would not return until Saturday, May 21. No effort will more relieve our concern than to know that God will provide faithful volunteers for this needful service. Ideally, the more drivers we have, the lighter the load for anyone.

• $5,000.00 to help defray costs of food, lodging and personal care of guest. Any contribution will be tax-deductible (in the USA).

Contact Jack Crans directly by email jack@countycorrectionsgospelmission.org if you can help or have any questions about the PLI Summit.
