The Contender

"It was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 1:3

October 2018

A Time Of Hope

Luke 21:14,15,17,36 “Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist…and ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake…watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”

We are never called to endure without the pleasure of our union in Christ Jesus. In this ‘hour’ of most sobering world and national events, whatever the calling and cost, may we experience both His fellowship and the joy of serving for His name’s sake.

We finished Summer 2016 with more weariness of soul than we can ever remember. The Old Mill Bible Conference grounds (now known as Camp at Old Mill) has not seen days like these since its birth in 1933. The old camp meeting grounds endured many wars and today, on its fragile, tested soils, the enduring, gospel of Jesus Christ remains its foundation. “To Know Christ and To Make Him Known” has long been the slogan on the front wall of the old chapel, and we shall not leave our dutiful post in such a time as this.

Solemn Assembly

I am asking that you prayerfully consider joining us on Sunday, October 30 from 2:30 - 4:15 pm at Brandywine Manor House, 120 Germany Hollow Road, Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, 19344.

The gathering will be just before the national election and will be dedicated to the following theme A Solemn Assembly: Heart Cry for America (A Time of Hope). I know this will impact your busy Sunday, yet, will be a timely, convenient hour that will accomplish at least two purposes: (1) it will provide an opportunity for the faith community to encourage the first responders and law enforcement families; and (2) it will be a public acknowledgement of our need for God’s forgiveness and mercy upon our nation.

I beg your feedback and willingness to encourage, promote and assist in this undertaking. I welcome hearing from you. See our contact information below.

One thing is certain about CCGM, one day our lives are overwhelmed with hurting children, and the next, police authorities who have a love for Jesus Christ. I am convinced that God has put us in a wonderful place at a most timely ‘hour’ in history.

Please pray! Needs abound as do ‘open doors!’
