Are You Stablished or Established? - Jack Crans

June 2015

Colossians 2: 6, 7 “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

Stablished and Super-Abounding

God’s Word as noted above from Colossians captures so much of what seems to burn in my heart every time I write to my children and grandchildren. It’s a wonderful summary of central themes that bode so strongly throughout the Scriptures. A personal, maturing relationship, rooted and built up in Christ Jesus the Lord as absolutely central to our lives and also that we be stablished (built up from within) in the faith, and with thanksgiving we super-abound. Lest I overlook another vital truth in this brief text: as ye have been taught looms as essential! As I search the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, these two wonderful verses reveal most powerfully Paul’s earlier exhortation in Colossians 1:27 “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ-in-you, the Hope-of-glory. Isn’t this what I want for my own life and for that of my children and grandchildren? Isn’t this what you really want when your life has been fully spent? Oh, to say: take my life and let it be, consecrated Lord to thee!

Fourth Sunday Night Sermon Series

The 2015 Fourth Sunday Night Sermon Series at Camp at Old Mill will commence at 6:00pm on Sunday, June 28th as we gather together with Pastor Larry Burd of Calvary Baptist Church of Easton and also, Steve Sensenig, gifted, worship-pianist. For those churches that do have their own Sunday evening services, please consider sending a delegation. Many churches have cancelled their evening meetings in the summer; so, this affords many an even greater chance to attend without conflicts in commitments. Oh, that pastors would lead the way in encouraging these meetings! You, dear one, have been a long stakeholder in this ministry. If you're able, please allow us the joy of thanking you face-to-face! You will join with many of like commitment and God will strengthen our bond of relationship for the treacherous and challenging road ahead.

Our July meeting will be held on July 26! We have the great honor of hosting Jim Liske, the Executive Director of Prison Fellowship, (chosen personally by PF’s Founder: Chuck Colson) as well as Sarah Timm (lead vocalist formerly of Sight and Sound Theater, now with the American Music Theater). I’m trusting God for a great night that will feature an overwhelming burden and national concern: law enforcement and the rising tide of civil unrest.

Summer Camp Activities

Summer Camps

As you read this letter, we are deeply engaged in addressing the lives of children and youth from the inner city of Coatesville in our summer camps. Please pray for God’s protection over all of us! Protection from injury, inclement weather, and perhaps most of all, spiritual adversity! All of our staff missionaries are overwhelmed with demands upon their lives! These next weeks of camp will literally  consume them 24/7! Pray for their own children who often make the great sacrifice of separation from parents in these demanding  days. Days before summer camps commence, Josh is dealing with an injured back while Grant Wise suffered an injury to his hand. Yet, they haven't lost a day!

Counselors arrive on June 12 for two weeks of intensive support and care in the lives of Coatesville's 6-14 year olds while friends of the Pointman Leadership Institute from Romania and England will be arriving soon to both visit and assist in our ministry. Several churches promised to send food and volunteers, and many, like you, will pray! Thank you! What a blessing!

Provision and Needs

Whilst thanking God for providing the funds for our Summer Staff Support we are now engaged in raising the $15,000.00 needed for completion of our septic system’s upgrades. The loss of a worn-out 8-passenger van, used amongst other for wheelchair-bound passengers, has come at a most untimely hour, but, unless God touches anyone’s heart concerning this loss, we’ll await God’s timing for its replacement.

Billy Graham Rapid Response Chaplaincy

Law Enforcement

I’ve just completed advanced training under  the leadership of the Billy Graham Rapid  Response Chaplaincy that has been deeply  engaged in recent flashpoints of civil unrest in  cities such as Ferguson and Baltimore. In  coming days we’ll participate in strategic  meetings in Chester County related to law enforcement concerns. Open doors with police authority abound! Most recently, timely meetings encouraged me with godly leaders within both the U.S. Secret Service and the Philadelphia Police Department. I shouldn’t have to even remind you of this, but, we are all in a very dangerous war and it’s real and it’s costly! I plan to report of these weeks at our June 28 meeting.

Best Shot Basketball Camp

Upcoming Events

Summer 2015 will include me addressing meetings with police in South Africa, Heinrich Botes visiting Pastor Richard Owen Roberts (Revivalist) in Wheaton, IL and Best Shot Basketball Camp, sponsored by NBA friend and encourager: Kyle Korver of the Atlanta Hawks.

In closing, remember that despite all these wonderful activities mentioned above, Chester County’s Prison remains a centerpiece for declaring the prophetic and necessary call of God upon the church both locally and to regions beyond.

If we stand at all, we stand IN CHRIST ALONE!! Thank-you for standing with us!

Keep praying!
