Troop 216 Eagle Project at Camp at Old Mill

Tim Grenz

Cutting a path with machetes and spades through thick bush, where hardly any human ever walked, is how Tim Grenz started his campaign to earn his Eagle badge.

Tim led a group of Troop 216 Scouts along the hillside above the West Branch of the Brandywine River in Brandamore, Pennsylvania to establish a beautiful, winding trail that leads to an open area where campers can in future meet around a fire pit. Tim planned the path, rustic benches and rock-laced fireplace in consultation with his Scout Master, Roland Richter and the Director of Camp at Old Mill, Jason Jarvis.

The project will be implemented in phases but Tim was pleasantly surprised with the progress made on Saturday, October 8, 2011. Tim’s “troops” were enthused by the presence and servant leadership of Ronald Richter, and further energized by the steady supply of snacks, pizza and drinks that Mom and his great-aunt provided.
